Garagebos57 just tried to scam me on a shifter., be careful!

Ugh. Wish I had read this sooner. Garagebos57 responded to my WTB post for a helmet, the back and forth seemed fine and they had some previous posts but shame on me for not being more suspicious. I sent $150 and they had a few messages but have now gone silent. Been about a week and I never got any tracking info and even emailed the PayPal account but no reply. Guessing I got scammed at this point. Can we get this person/IP banned?

Put Miller04 on the list too. These dummies just post what they think are obscure photos from a google image search, so just ask for some specific images/angles.

He just sent me the first pic that shows up in a google search for the item I was looking for; in perfect condition, low price, no PayPal account and zero feedback,postst, etc.

Miller04 also tried to scam me with some Shimano shifters. Looked at their profile, saw they had registered on July 17th of this year and have zero posts.

Tried to scam me back in March. Would be nice if these scammers could be banned.

Garagebos57 is still up to his old tricks. Trying to scam me now on a frame. You can tell its a scam because his responses are odd and he is trying to sell me things I did not post in my WTB ad.

Just got scammed by Garageboss57, wish I had seen sooner

Pros
- Might raise the bar on scammers high enough that they move elsewhere (or at least generate enough weird post history that it's also apparent they're not legitimate)
- Doesn't seem like an actual issue, but would generally make comeback accounts for banned users less attractive

Cons
- Could keep people who are new from being able to buy posted items (that said, as a seller, I'd be a little more hesitant with any brand new account)

New scammer out there. Username is ccelin. Tried to sell me a frame. Cant provide any details on it, and wants to try to only correspond via text.

I can confirm this user "oliverperr" is a scammer.

Oliverperr just reached out to me. Almost got me! Sent me a pic of what I wanted, we talked price, and then they asked for Vemno after I suggested Paypal. My gut feeling was to look at their credentials and BAM! 0 post, registered on 1/17/23. Yea that's a hard pass! Glad I looked on his profile and used the search key before pulling the trigger. I'm guessing they copied a photo online or Facebook somewhere. Sneak sneaky!

Be careful of Roadmaster.... Second time a User has copied a product I'm looking for off the internet. This time they went on eBay and grabbed the exact same photos as a current listing. I asked them where they're located to see if it was the same as the eBay seller and it wasn't. This user also just registered back in June and only has a handful of random comments to threads to make it look like they're involved...

Another scammer, user Crhawkins79 PMed me in response to a WTB, with the standard “I have the item you want? Email me at this address” bit. Standard scammer stuff.
