I’m very glad to hear about your week. I had a great week, too, with daily running, work, and a heavy dose of volunteering. I’m not as organized as you in terms of calendaring, but I think I earned a gold star each day.
I met someone who lives in my town and rides with a group. So I am very excited to ride with them soon. I took yesterday off, and I’m looking forward to a reasonable week. I think I’m going to revert to my Mondays-off, Fridays-easy schedule from college.
I think its been nearly a decade since I've logged in here. Just a whim. I still recognize a few names... I had twins almost 2 years ago. C section, still no functional core despite being back at my old weight and not too far off run times for at least a year. I developed type 1 diabetes 5 years ago but I don't let it stop me from anything. It drives me nuts that diastatis recti repair is considered cosmetic if you are a woman who has ever been pregnant and fully covered by insurance as a functional muscle repair if you are a man who put on 80lbs for less healthy reasons. I've had an on again off again nanny who finally quit for good right when I needed her the most (tax season). No daycare/preschool spot until mid January. Yay me. Need to find another nanny. I'm running a 50k in 2 weeks and I'm half trained at best but I can jog 12mi pushing a double stroller no problem! I don't really swim (except neighborhood pool with babies) or bike anymore (6 lonely bikes in the garage...) but I still run often with a double stroller.
"When the going gets tough, get going!"
Hi! Welcome back. I hope you'll let us know how your 50k taper and race and recovery goes.
