It was great until yesterday! I'm following the post-Tour of Sufferlandria recovery plan and did all of the workout (easy bike riding, yoga) and went to physical therapy this past week. PT Chris was very happy with my tight hip and said all the biking the week before was actually beneficial. Yea!

AND - MY FLOORING IS INSTALLED!!!! Now, I just need to get everything put away. I took most of Friday off to build some shelves that I'd ordered and carried them upstairs (2 x 8 and 2 x 12 shoe cubbies plus an Elfa wire drawer for sweaters). My friend was coming over to help my carry 7 x 50 pound sandbags up to the 3rd floor to set up my boxing bag, but Sunday morning I started feeling not great and ended up with a 101.9 degree fever for most of the day. So we postponed and I slept most of the day and went to be at 7PM. I feel better today but not 100%. This was very similar to what I had last spring in April. I didn't see the doctor then since that was when COVID was still very new and no one was going anywhere. Hopefully I'll be back to 100% tomorrow and get back on the bike.

This is going to be a long work week. My goals are
- self care and healthy coping skills 7/7
- journal every day
Done! I've accumulated 9 days in a row of healthy coping skills.
Journaling 6/7 days

Goals this coming week are mental + physical health and journal every day.

I am babying some spots in my feet so I didn't run last week. I did
29,575 m swim (6 swims)
77 mi bike (4 rides)
strength 2x

Yay for the floors!!

Got my 2nd vaccination today, so who knows what the week holds, I have swims scheduled for tomorrow and Thursday. Might get the bike on the trainer again as well.
As for last week, got a ride on the new trainer, & swam twice. Celebrated my birthday on Wednesday: went to Downtown Disney with my sister to do some shopping, ordered dinner from my usual b-day restaurant, sent my mom to get dinner (she got in a minor accident on the way), I ended up having to pick up the dinner (restaurant was very organized good number of curbside slots, had my food before the time I had it scheduled for 😀😀), ate dinner and had beignets (from the Jazz Kitchen at Downtown Disney) instead of cake or pie this year.

Congrats on the 2nd shot and a very happy birthday to you! I miss celebrating friends' birthdays at Downtown Disney:)

I'm fine. I did an ftp test last week and I puked, but my numbers improved 6%!

I also missed a recovery run last week. An old, good friend, now quite distant, passed away and it hit me a bit harder for a few days than I was anticipating (we knew it was coming). It felt like self care that day to skip it and watch a fun YA CW show instead and I regret nothing.

The other news is that my pool closed again because of a spike in cases, and my coach and I both think it's important to keep swimming, for my mental health as much as my fitness, so I've gone and joined the crappy, bro-tastic gym that also has the most available pool in town, if it's a little gross. I went there yesterday, and my school must've closed the pool for our D1 swim team too. There were a few members of the team swimming alongside me. It was so inspiring to see them!

This week:
M: 2600 yd swim
T: rest! (Nailin' it!)
W: Fartlek run
Th: trainer ride
Fr: tempo run
Sa: 2.5 hrs. on the trainer
Su: long run.

Still sick, but not as bad. My doctor had me go get an instant response COVID test today - negative. So I go see him tomorrow to see what's up. Lots of wheezing coughing. Dang it - just when I was on a good roll!

Hello, Ladies!

Happy March to Everyone! And a happy age group promotion day to me yesterday! It's been a long but happy week so far, and I'm officially counting the hours until I throw myself into a spiky doom pit of fitness on Saturday for Rubyman! I'm definitely getting a bit nervous- this will be my longest completely unassisted attempt at triathlon (Ironmans don't count as unassisted when volunteers are fighting themselves to help you, haha). The swim doesn't scare me anymore now that I've been in the pool a couple of times in the last week, the bike is up in the air as to outside or inside (the forecast is calling for near-freezing temps in the morning and maybe rain), and the marathon is going to be a long boring slog all by myself, but I'm absolutely ready to take all of it on.

This week's goal- Everything's coming up Rubies!

M- 6mi run w/pickups (check!)
Tu- Intermediate flow yoga, 45ish minute swim, 5mi run with 2mi at GMP. Well, those 2 miles were sub-BQ pace, so I think I'm good, haha.
W- 1hr easy trainer ride, leading the tri team's stretching session tonight
Th- Dry land swim with the tri team, 2mi shakeout run, and restorative yoga
F- REST. Well, more like getting ready to rumble!
Sa- RUBYMAN! 40 minute swim, 40 mile ride, 40k run (and some to grow on to make it a full marathon)
Su- I'd love to say NOTHING, but I'm still teaching my Sunday skills class in the afternoon.

I can tell you why you're sick, I just can't write you an Rx
