new Bont shoes? (Jan's Kona pair)

What Bont shoes was Jan wearing at Kona?
I'm not finding them on the Bont website. They look a bit wider in the forefoot than other tri/cycling shoes.

Bont Sub Zero +, those are the more modern ones. Pretty much the same fit as the original Zero+ with a single boa dial under the flap. Bonts tend to have a wider toe box for the upper end models. The Zero which is discounted had laces under.

Curious, their size wizard classifies my feet as "Double", which appears to only be available via custom shoes. <sigh>
It'll be nice when cycling shoe manufacturers make shoes based on FootShape lasts.

Do you wear normal/wide width shoes? The wide shoes they have are wider than a normal wide cycling shoe.

I can only wear wide toebox shoes with a slightly curved last, i.e. most of Altra's selection (but not all of them). My MTPJ is 110mm in width, and toe widths are 115mm.

Bont has informed me that based on my foot measurements I would need Zero+ double wide. For normal colour shoes it costs shoe price+ US$30<semi-custom fee>+US$25<freight fee>.

I would try and find a pair you can try on. I got a pair last year and was extremely excited to give them a try. After heat molding 5 times and trying them for 6 months I couldn't get comfortable in them. From what I have heard, you either love them or hate them. I recently just sold them and moved onto the Giro Empire SLX and best decision I have made.

My experience as well, both with this model and other bonts.

They are really nice quality, nice to look at, but painfully hard, and you can't always fit a good insole in them as it can take up too much volume. The stock insole is paper thin.

Also, bonts in general, the heat molding IMHO is kind of bogus. If they aren't pretty comfy out of the box, then the slight amount you can adjust the upper with the heat molding isn't going to make much difference. And the sole, of course, can't be molded, it is a rock solid tub, it is what it is.

And, not that it really matters, but I just assumed they'd be light. But the 45 Zero's were essentially the same weight as my old Shimano TR-60 tri shoes.
