ERG trainer question
I am looking for a new trainer.
But I have maybe a stupid question, when I am using trainerroad and I can't complete a interval I will pedal at a lower power. But in ERG mode whil it hold the required power?

If you feel you can't finish intervals or that its too tough you can reduce the intensity in the lower left hand corner. You can turn it down as much as you need and the trainer will adjust to the new level. Hope that helps.

Yep... the trainer will attempt to hold the power to match the interval required if you lower the cadence and try to soft pedal.

yes, it will hold however once you stop pedaling it will leave erg mode. You then have to pedal at consistently at the target wattage for erg to re-engage. This is at least true for running Zwift on a Kickr. I believe in TrainerRoad you just have to back pedal.

ERG mode will force the power to stay at whatever the target is set at.

So, if you slow down, the resistance goes up to keep the power steady.
If you speed up the pedals, resistance goes down.
Cadence and force on the pedals determine power, so chance either of those and you have to change the other.

And, as mentioned if you cannot hold the required power, you might need to change your threshold settings.
