On Wednesday morning I did a lighter bike ride, w a tough core work out afterwards. I got up out of my chair at work late in the day and started walking fast when I felt a tug or a pull in my groin area, just once, but it was enough to make me walk a lot slower and be cautious. The next day I forgot about it and went for a power walk, w some very light jogging. Later in the afternoon I was walking around at work I felt the same pulling sensation a few times. The following day I did nothing, but could feel the pain pulling again from time to time. Yesterday I felt it a couple of times, but less intense. Since I can't duplicate the pain in stretching exercises or specific motions I have been debating on riding my bike. I was going to switch the tri bike on the trainer to the roadie. I wander if this sounds like a minor strain or could be something else. I have been taking ibuprofen, icing and did some graston, massage, rolling and started stretching more. A long time ago I had a hip problem in the same area, but it was a constant pain and it was relieved with several sessions of ART. Any thoughts on this? It is in the front of my hip

I can't say what your pain is. When I had hip flexor pain, I thought I had to stretch it. It wasn't getting any better after months. Found out that I needed to strengthen it and it soon cleared up.
To strengthen mine, I simply stand and lift the knee as high as it will go and then lower the toe back to the ground about 6 times. Then raise the knee as high as it will go and kick or extend the foot forward about 3 times.
It took me way to long to figure out was wrong with me. Good luck with your situation.
