Yes, you just show up at the gate and pay a fee to check the oversize bag.

I'm pretty sure bikes don't fly free with AA first class, at least not domestic. When I fly first class with a bike, I find the check-in agents are more likely to turn a blind eye and let me check the bag for free, but I've been charged by United and Delta flying first with a bike.
