Terenzo Bozzone was in the form of his life in early 2018, winning back to back 70.3's and breaking the course record at Ironman New Zealand, and was building his training towards Kona with the podium in his sights. Tragically, he was hit by a logging truck in July while out bike training, and thoughts of racing were put on hold while he tried to heal his body.

Left with severe concussion, ongoing headaches, a broken cheek bone, facial plastic surgery, a broken hand and numerous other injuries, Terenzo focused on doing what he could each day, feeling grateful for the fact he was still alive, his kids and his family. What followed was one of the most remarkable stories of coming back from life threatening injuries ever told. Entering 70.3 Western Sydney on less than two weeks of run training, just with the aim of finishing the race, he surprised everyone - himself included - by taking the win! Inspired by that, he eight days later he entered Ironman Western Australia - and took the win after an epic battle with Cam Wurf on the run.

This is a fantastic story of how a positive attitude, and gratitude for what we have each day, can transform the darkest of situations.
