I am now at S-1 where S is the number of bikes owned that lead directly to divorce.

We have a family of 4 who all ride, and 2 daughters who race road, MTB, Cross, so currently around 16 bikes for our family. I a starting to mentally lose the ability to track them and their related parts.

As someone who's had his garage broken into (while I slept!) and ONLY my bikes and some wheels stolen (i.e. cycling equipment targeted), I'd recommend you think long and hard about listing out your "collections" in a forum on the internet. It's like handing a shopping list to someone.

This looks like a massive investment but keep in mind I didn't pay retail for most of them. For example I bought the Pine Mountain for $300 ($1,000 retail). The F-Si I got a screaming deal on new old stock. Same for the Shiv. The Fuji SL I bought for $600. The RAD currently gets the most use: morning pool commuter and weekend gravel rides. My F-Si is arguably my "most fun" bike. Of my tri bikes, my Omni is quickly becoming my "favorite" but it's hard to argue with the versatility of the Shiv... and I don't think I'll ever part with the Speed Concept.

I've decided that one of the best forms of security is surprise...that way they don't know ahead of time what/how to defeat whatever may be in the way :-)

I keep most of our bikes in the house too but only because we live in a bad neighborhood. Bikes are stolen out of garages all the time, and those are crappy bikes.

I’ve raved about this company several times. Can’t say enough good things about them. I live in Little Rock and have gotten to know the Allied folks. Doing awesome things. May not matter to some but to literally know/ride with the folks that built your bike from sheets of carbon a mile from your house is special.

Wow, that is gorgeous! I agree, it would certainly make it extra special knowing and riding with 5he guys who built your bike. I just listened to The Pull podcast last week with Sam Pickman - it made me want one! I had a custom Rob English built two years ago, so no custom bikes for a while!

Yea when Sam shows up to a group be prepared to get dropped. English bikes look amazing. I really like riding something that nobody else has. I wanted matte black and they didn’t offer it so they made it for me. Pretty cool.

I also have my first serious race bike in the garage but I only ride it for fun and to show off:

1985 Panasonic Sport 500. I've never upgraded any of the components. As they wore I sourced the original Suntour parts. It even has the original foam handle bar covering on it. Only the tires are better than the original. I still have the original pedals, but when I raced it in the 80's I used rat-trap basket pedals which are still on it to this day. Once in a while I will ride on a club ride just to show the kids that its the engine, not the carbon fiber electronic shifting machines of today. I just have to remember that the brakes are marginal at best compared to the other bikes.

Nice whip with the English, I’m on the fence between that and a Vanilla. Vanilla is like a two year wait

It was almost two and a half years for the English when I ordered it. No lie what it is at the moment.

Appreciating my wife even more as we have 19 or 20 bikes and none live in the garage. All but one are either mine or my oldest son's.

A 1977 Trek 700 series road bike. Cost me $280.

Thought I got it in '76, but looked up the serial number and it's from April '77. Plus, they only started making bikes in fall '76 and only sold frames at first. When I bought mine they had whole bike models but it was still kinda a custom operation where you could order specific frame components as well as swap out other components from the model. You ordered the frame and they shipped the frame to the dealer and the dealer built out the bikes.

Also have a GT mountain bike I got off of Craigslist.
