The Meltdown in Virginia Continues: Anti-Semitism Edition
Quote | Reply
Well, it was only a matter of time until the anti-Semites in the Old Dominion started slithering out from their dark, dank spaces. Looks like a Democratic nominee for the state's legislature is now issuing profuse apologies for his anti-Semitic social media posts. And Big League Politics -- the same gang that broke the Ralph "Coonman Blackface Klansman" Northam story about his accidental exposure to shoe polish -- dishes on its latest scoop:

"Ibraheem Samirah, the Democrat nominee in Virginia’s 86th district House of Delegates election on February 19th, issued a statement Friday evening apologizing for anti-Israel and anti-Semitic social media posts that were published Thursday by Big League Politics. Samirah, a Muslim-American born to Palestinian refugees, said that giving money to Israel is worse than giving money to the Ku Klux Klan and wished for the late Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon to “burn,” in addition to other hateful screeds.

“This slander campaign is using my 5-year old Facebook posts from my impassioned college days, posts that upon reflection and with the blessing of time, I sincerely regret and apologize for. I am so sorry that my ill-chosen words added to the pain of the Jewish community and I seek your understanding and compassion as I prove to you our common humanity,” Samirah stated."

Actually, I give this fellow some credit: at least he didn't claim his remarks were taken out of context, and the statement he issued (no doubt written by his lawyers) is well-worded.

But there's a trend lately -- such as with that Arab-American doctor whose social media posts from her college days noted that she intended to give the wrong medicines to her Jewish (she called them "Yahoods") patients -- of claiming you were young, dumb and full of cu...uh, full of something, when you uttered your various anti-Semitic rantings. And like her, this Samirah guy sounds like a real charmer.

"Politics is just show business for ugly people."
