I appreciate this heads up. I've got a Diverge sitting at home as my fiance's winter bike and that would be a pretty miserable way to end a ride.

I got the email on Monday. According to the LBS the problem is from Stress Corrosion Cracking at the spacer that loads the bearing race, not with the FS system specifically. Sweat falls on the FS system and gets trapped under it and the spacer cracks. That takes the load off the head set bearings and bad things happen. So far there are no reports of failure while ridding. Some shops reported the cracks during a routine inspection and Specialized decided to replace the part. As off Monday the shop had no idea when they would get the replacement parts.

My Roubaix is in the garage all warm and toasty until late March when it warms up enough to ride outside again. I'll get it fixed during my routine seasonal maintenance.
