Some test in wind tunnel, comparatively to others suits ?

Dan Bigham knowledge and passion should bring some results. Really like what they do in the Huub Wattbike Test Team in Team Pursuit.

Dan, the guys at Wattshop and the rest of the Test Team have really impressed me over the last couple months since I've really turned in. I have no idea how this suit compares to others but it looks like they like to do their research, so while it's not 100% safe, I'm willing to bet that it is fast, at least on the bike.

Interesting article on their work on the wind tunnel.

Boardman tunnel, the same used by Allan Hovda recently.

OK, it is on their work for team pursuit, not for tri. But I expect at some point we will have a view on Tri Suit comparison between Huub Anemoi, Endura D2Z, ...

Does anyone who has purchased the Huub Anemoi have any feedback to offer? I'm investing in a new suit for the upcoming season and my 'A race' is an Ironman. I've searched various ST threads and seen the Anemoi mentioned a lot, but haven't come across much commentary. FWIW, I'm currently in a DeSoto Riveria Flisuit and I like it. It's just gotten a bit old and stretched out. I'd get another one, but would also like to sample other brands.

May I ask what the issue was with the fit? According to their fit charts, I am on the border between S and M. I was leaning toward a S when I spoke with a customer rep who just happened to be my exact size and indicated he wears an XS. Apparently, the Anemoi runs large compared to the chart and you should size down.

As far as I recall it was uncomfortable around the armpits. That the quality and looks was great but I can't spend a day in an uncomfortable suit.

I guess you never know. I tried the Roka Elite and, while I loved the fit, found the padding way too thin, particularly for an Ironman. I tried the Castelli All-Out Speed suit, which many seem to like, and it was all wrong around the neck and shoulders. I wish there were one big store that carried them all and I could just go try them all on at once.

I looks really good and fast. Sleeves are getting longer now and I like that.

The benefits are highly individual - not only how well it fits, but how well the aero features match your body shape, air speed and yaw angle.

I tested an Anemoi in the tunnel back-to-back with two other suits. Relative performance:
  • ZeroD sleeveless suit (no aero features other than being tight) - baseline
  • BioRacer Speedwear Concept sleeved tri-suit (textured fabric along arms and upper back) - no measurable difference
  • Huub Anemoi +7% drag

Error margin +/-1.5%.

The Anemoi was a snug fit, but not super tight (too tight is bad because it distorts the fabric and flattens the fabric texture).

You mean for example you were :
  • 0.220 CdA in ZeroD sleeveless suit.
  • 0.220 CdA in Bioracer Speedwear Concept suit
  • 0.235 CdA in Huub Anemoi (2019 or new 2020 version ?) suit ?

7% is a lot... so sorry but I had to ask for confirmation !

Can you also give more details (which tunnel, what did you test, etc.), oh and if you have pictures of you in the tunnel with the 3 different suits I would be super interesting to see how they fit you.

Thanks a lot
