We’ll soon find out; I am typing while flying to Cozumel this coming Sunday.

Three moves in 2018 have contributed to disjointed training along with a poor training plan.

I hope to participate in IM United Kingdom and attend Le Tour De France next year better prepared than I am now...

Thanks for getting us started Dr. Tigerchik, I hope you had a good week.

Good luck at Cozumel SallyShortyPnts!

I've been traveling for work but getting in training here and there. Last week, I was wiped from travel and feeling tight, sore, and achy from all the sitting on planes and in meetings so I took a week off from running and I swam and biked for 6 days. It was great and I feel a lot better. I love running it just doesn't always love me back.

SoCal air quality is very pool due to the wildfires so I'm not sure what my training will be like but I'm planning to run again, swim inside, and ride inside. Later in the week, I'll be traveling (for work and then for fun) so I should get some good rides and runs in outside.

Hope everyone has a great week, happy training.

Dr TC - I realize I never replied last week, I'm up in the Great White North
Sally - enjoy Cozumel!
SoCal - hope you have fun on your travels. Stay safe with all the fires around you.

It's a long weekend here and it's nice to be chilling on the couch on a Monday. My sister arrived on Friday and we've had a jam packed couple of days so she is recharging with a nap. Kids these days have no stamina!

My goals for last week were: 4 x swim, 3 x bike, 3 x run, 2 x strength. I had another successful week of meeting all my goals. It was also my recovery week so it was pretty chill overall.

This week will ideally see 3 x swim, 4 x bike, 3 x run and 2 x strength. I've already done one bike session (FTP test followed by an easy 30 minute ride). My FTP went up a few watts which is fine by me particularly since I've mainly been doing aerobic work. It's also supposed to warm up rather randomly tomorrow so I'm hoping to do my hill repeats outside.

Good morning Ladies! Hope all is well on this Tuesday. Thanks for starting us off, Dr. TC.

Good luck in Cozumel SSP! Be epic!
Be safe in California SoCal, I'll be thinking of you and your state. One of my friends was evacuated from the NorCal fires and a few more are preparing to bug out.
Glad you had fun with your family Scheherezade! Stay warm up there!

Last week's goal was to finish up my last first block of IM training, and I did. Woo :)

This week's goals: Rest and Test-

M- rest!
Tu- FTP test
W- easy 30-60min swim
Th- Run LT test
F- 1000yd TT
Sa- 6-8mi run
Su- active rest day (probably yoga/meditation session)

Mine was great to meh.

I went to Austin on Saturday, Nov. 3 and got to spend the weekend there checking it out before working there on Monday and Tuesday. All my other trips there had been in and out with limited time to do anything but work and maybe go to dinner. But my trainer moved back there in January, so I'd been wanting to go spend time there for months.

And let's just say - I saw more people in the 4 days I was there being physical (bike, walk, run, just being outdoors enjoying it) than I've seen in months in Nashville. I'm ready to move there. Just gotta figure out how to talk work into letting me do that.

Saturday 11/3: walk/jog
Sunday 11/4: bike all over with the trainer as he showed me around. Probably 15 miles on those city bikes (45 pound, one-speed cruiser bikes)
Monday: walk/jog + weight workout with the trainer
Tuesday: 20 minute cruiser bike ride before checking out of the hotel; dinner with trainer (I do miss him)
Wednesday: treadmill at Houston hotel
Thursday: weight workout
Friday: swim
Saturday/Sunday: sick

WInter is here and I am hating it already. Looking forward to 10 days in California (SF and Palm Springs) in late January/early February. And a work trip to Miami in December.

goals this week swim 5x (2 done), ride 2-3x (1 done), day off from running (done!)

met all the goals!
swam 7x (5800 yds), rode 2x (39.1 mi), ran 5x (33.2 mi)

We got two inches of snow in Oklahoma yesterday! Rare to get snow; it was fun.

Nice work last week! Snow that comes and quickly disappears is the best kind of snow- enough for you to appreciate it, but not too much that you have to deal with it ;)

This week has felt like eternity! I got a bike fit and after several weeks off, have climbed back into the saddle. Welcome back to a sore bum! Getting back to some base building in running and sustaining my swims. It's gotten cold in Michigan so swimming is a drag with extra clothes to layer up after leaving the pool wet!

Welcome powpepper. I feel your pain with the post-swim layering - I've found a toque is essential to keep my wet hair from freezing on me!

Would you mind sharing your toque secret with us? My hair is getting long with no cut in sight and I need something better than a hoodie hood that just gets soaked and frozen.

No big secret; my hair is only collar bone length at the moment so I leave it in its ponytail and tuck that up into the hat out of the way. I have a Salomon winter toque that is quick drying and fairly warm and that's my favourite for the pool -> home trip.
