Eagles or Panthers

If the Eagles can hit Newton enough it will not only be funny but I like their chances.

Nah - doesn't do it often! It's alright once and awhile. Another turnover, another touchdown! Keep feeding em Cam!!! Actually, his fault on the first one, but not the second. Should have just thrown the ball away on the first one, and just a good reaction by the DB on the second.

Kuechly out of the game for a concussion examination. Good player, but with everything that's come out regarding CTE ... eek!

How the fuck was that not a TD by Cam? It really wasn't even close. Total horseshit they had to blow a TO and still did not get the right call.

First game I've seen with Romo as commentator. I like him. As a Philly guy and die-hard birds fan, this makes me feel dirty.

So obviously a 'Bowl win is a foregone conclusion for this year. The only question left is will the Birds lose again this century?

I dunno about all that, but a real shot to get to 7-1 with the next 3 at home. Conceivable we get to 9-2 before west coast swing to face Seattle. Maybe I could get tickets to the Rams game??? Hmmm. I have an outage at the refinery during that time, but that Sunday is a scheduled day off, actually, and I could stay the weekend in L.A. Interesting. Hmm.

As a Giants fan I also couldn't stand him as a player. However, I think he has been awesome in the booth. I love how he knows whats coming before it happens, but even more, when he's right he seems to be able to do it in a less condescending manner than others. Example last night, 3rd and short for the Eagles, he says Wentz needs to get to the line quick and fire a short slant to whoever is covered one on one. Instead Wentz tried to hit Ertz right up the middle seam and it fell incomplete. The pull back shot showed Jeffrey open exactly as Romo predicted. After he point this out, Romo said something like "That's all right. He'll put that in the memory bank for next time." I just thought it was a cool way of handling it, rather than being all "I was right me me me".

He and Nantz are really good together. Couple weeks ago as Folk was missing all those field goals: "I know someone that could make those kicks" => "Yeah he's right down on the sideline <referring to sideline reporter and former kicker Jay Feely". Vicious!

As a long time Eagles fan, I always prepare myself for disappointment.

Just remember, the Eagles were 5-1 3 seasons ago. The following year they went 7-9 and fired the coach.

And continuing to have that same long time Eagles fan mentality over the years, where did it get us? Nowhere. Change it up - be positive - may actually have a real quarterback with receivers who can catch the ball!!!

Actually I am very excited about the team, especially the QB. He looks like a real franchise player! Remember all those duds we went through before we got Mcnabb?

I just hope this isn't early season "haven't figured us out yet" play.

A couple of articles out today on this. I wonder if the NFL will address it. Last night Pete Morelli’s crew called 10 penalties on the Eagles for 126 yds vs 1 penalty for the panthers.

Pete Morelli’s crew in last 2 Eagles games

Philly penalties - 24 for 234 yards

Opponent penalties - 3 for 19 yards

and

Pete Morelli’s crew in last FOUR Eagles games

Philly penalties - 40 for 396 yards

Opponent penalties - 8 for 72 yards

Yeah, but the penalties were the only part of the game that was really "Eagles football."

I mean, they didn't miss tackles, they didn't choke, they didn't call run plays up the middle on 3rd and 85 yards, they didn't forget that the clock exists in the last few minutes of the game . . . . Basically, they were hard to recognize.

It was a little unsettling, to be honest.

Most of the penalties called on the Eagles were valid calls. But they didn't call it both ways. PI called on Mills was identical type play to the one not called on Jeffries. Blunt called for unsportsmanlike on the play he was blocking vs not getting the same call when someone tossed him after the whistle was blown. There were a couple of others and 1 penalty to Eagles 10 was more then a little lopsided all things considered.

Yeah, not only are the Eagles not fucking up in the usual ways, and finding whole NEW ways to fuck up, they're simply not fucking up at all

[OK, they shouldn't have let the Giants or Cardinals come back in the game, but we got an epic field goal and exquisite example of clock-burning out of it]

Interesting. Wasn't there a comment the announcers made on the Monday night game where the officials were very involved? Can't be the same officiating crew for sure.
