One of the funniest and most quotable ever made turns 30. Go ahead, take my man-card for saying it. Inconceivable!

So overrated. As is every one of the quotes that people think are so clever.

Yoou keep using that word; I don't think it means what you think it means!

Love that flick.

Is that one of the quotes? If so, I rest my case. Not funny, not clever.

This is what a mass delusion looks like.

Meh.

It was a cute little movie. One of the funniest movies ever? Not hardly. And there isn't a single quote in there that's half as clever as people tell themselves.

Get over it already.

One could say the same to you. You registered your opinion; I replied tongue in cheek, yet it seems like all you want to do is try to tell everyone that only the great Vitus is smart enough to understand that the movie isn't that great, and the rest of us are idiots for liking it. Look, you are entitled to your opinion, and we are entitled to ours.

Get over that.

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders—the most famous of which is, “Never get involved in a land war in Asia”—but only slightly less well-known is this: “Never go against a Sicilian when death is on the line”!

"<sniffs empty container> Iocaine powder...I'd bet my life on it" (Of course, you have to pay close attention to the previous scene to get this one)

or,

"Get back witch!"
"I'm not a witch...I'm your wife!"

Oh, c'mon...those are clever.

NO, you get points ADDED to your Man Card!

This is, simply put, one of the greatest movies of all time. I'm buddies with many combat-hardened Navy SEALS and Marine Recon studs who LOVE that flick. :-)

Robin Hood Men in Tights (also featuring Cary Elwes) is right up there with it.

Me and my kids love that movie and my wife goes into the bedroom to read when it comes on.

The book by Cary Elwes on the making of the movie is really fun as well. Quick read, highly recommended.

For anyone who has only seen the movie and not read the book, you should really read the book. Puts the movie to shame as good as the movie is.

Agreed. They did a pretty good job of getting in most of the good lines but missed a lot of the backstory and sarcasm that books do so much better. The book is inconceivably excellent. It's fun to nerd it up and discuss things that happened differently in the book than the movie. Sadly, the number of people to have such a conversation with is Sicilian Dwarf small.

I love this movie, saw it back when it came out and many times since. I watch this with my 9-yr old whenever it's on and she loves it too, hopefully she'll appreciate it more as she gets older and gets even more of the jokes.

"I'm not a witch, I'm your wife!" - my favorite line, cracks me up every time.

Long live Andre!

Fezzik
: You never said anything about killing anyone.
Vizzini: I've hired you to help me start a war. It's an prestigious line of work, with a long and glorious tradition.
Fezzik: I just don't think it's right, killing an innocent girl.
Vizzini: Am I going MAD, or did the word "think" escape your lips? You were not hired for your brains, you hippopotamic land mass.
Inigo Montoya: I agree with Fezzik.
Vizzini: Oh, the sot has spoken. What happens to her is not truly your concern. I will kill her. And remember this, never forget this: when I found you, you were so slobbering drunk, you couldn't buy brandy!
[turning to Fezzik]
Vizzini: And YOU: friendless, brainless, helpless, hopeless! Do you want me to send you back to where you were? Unemployed, in Greenland?

Inigo Montoya: That Vizzini, he can *fuss*.
Fezzik: Fuss, fuss... I think he like to scream at *us*.
Inigo Montoya: Probably he means no *harm*.
Fezzik: He's really very short on *charm*.
Inigo Montoya: You have a great gift for rhyme.
Fezzik: Yes, yes, some of the time.
Vizzini: Enough of that.
Inigo Montoya: Fezzik, are there rocks ahead?
Fezzik: If there are, we all be dead.
Vizzini: No more rhymes now, I mean it.
Fezzik: Anybody want a peanut?
Vizzini: DYEEAAHHHHHH!

Fezzik: I just figured why you give me so much trouble.
Westley: Why is that
[squashed against a rock]
Westley: do you think?
Fezzik: Well, I haven't fought one person for so long. I've been specialised in groups, battling gangs for local charities, that kind of thing.
Westley: Why should that make such a

I agree

“What happens is just this: Queen Bella packs most of her wardrobe (11 pages) and travels to Guilder (2 pages). In Guilder she unpacks (5 pages), then tenders the invitation to Princess Noreena (1 page). Princess Noreena accepts (1 page). Then Princess Noreena packs all her clothes and hats (23 pages) and, together, the Princess and the Queen travel back to Florin for the annual celebration of the founding of Florin City (1 page). They reach King Lotharon's castle, where Princess Noreena is shown her quarters (1/2 page) and unpacks all the same clothes and hats we've just seen her pack one and a half pages before (12 pages).”

How the Zoo of Death didn't make it into the movie escapes me [oh, budget, yeah, that makes sense]
