Castelli Free Sanremo Sleeved Sizing
I am looking at getting the Castelli Free Sanremo Sleeved suit. People have posted that the suit runs both small and big. So I am not real sure of the fit of this suit. I am ususally between sizes (M or L). I am 6' and 175lbs and have a muscular upper body with a 32 waist. I have a medium PI Octane sleeved suit now. Should I go with medium or large.
Thanks

Agree, the sizing advice is varied and it was hard for me to choose as well. If you're stuck like I was and can't try one on beforehand, it's certainly a bit of a gamble.

I'm 5'10", 165 pounds, 31-32" waist. I opted for a medium, half-expecting it to fit fairly snugly. It "fits" and is actually very comfy, but I do think that I could have fit into a small instead and possibly been a bit more aero. For reference, I would usually wear a small in Garneau aero stuff (Course M2, etc...). I'd agree you are between sizes, and it'll depend if you want super aero (choose medium), or more comfy (choose large).

My $0.02.

Large, no doubt. We sell them so we have quite some experience with the sizing

You're a large. I'm 5'9" and 161lbs with a muscular upper body and the medium is really snug. It's what I would refer to as a "Race Fit". There is absolutely no way I would fit into a small, unless I was about 10-15lbs lighter. You have about 10-15lbs on me, so I would definitely go large. I'm also a 32" waist.

Definitely large - I'm 6'3" ~165lb and I tried on a medium during sizing (our club switched to Castelli this year). I was able to get in but it was a very tight fit . I think it would have been uncomfortable racing and eventually torn due to the amount everything was getting stretched. Really like it as a suit and the large fits me well.

I'm 6', 178 and wear a large. I can't say I'm muscular, but I can't imagine a Medium fitting well. Oh, 34" waist for reference.

The problem is the chest and waist sizing is a little 'off' from their other products. Team is sponsored by castelli so i get alot of their gear, i wear a size s free aero race jersey and size M bibs

Im 5'10, 72kg. Waist size 31, if that helps as a reference. When wearing the speedsuit i go for M. The bottom is 'almost' too tight and the top is comfortable. The top could be a teeny little bit more snug (and it actually is for the full blow tt skinsuit ) but my guess is they opened it abit up for triathletes who need to run in it. I emailed castelli about this and they say the aero race jerseys are deliberately left abit 'looser' than the san remo speedsuit ss, assuming the same size.

I 'could' fit into an s san remo if i wanted best aero but i would probably be abit uncomfortable on the run and for long races which is why i went with an m.

Weird - I'm the same height/weight/waist as you, but I found the M too loose and went with the S. I also have separate tri shorts and the Free Speed Jersey, and in that combo I went with M in the shorts but still S in the jersey. Chest is 38" - maybe that's the difference.

I have 2 of these; one a 2016 and a new 2017. They were/ are made in 2 different countries, thus the different comments on sizing.

The 2016 I got was the standard red/white/black. I first got a M as I'm 5-11, 170lbs. Bottoms fit ok but top was too loose and wrinkly. I have a Stealth top in M and fits great so I was surprised. I returned it and got a S and that was tight, but manageable...raced in 1 IM and 2 70.3s in it and worked superbly.

I liked the new yellow/ black color for 2017 and ordered a S. Worng size...wayyyy tight, like a small should be. Got the M and fit just like the 2016 S I had.

Looked at tags and made in 2 different countries (Vietnam for 2016 and Chille for 2017?...something like that)

I'm reviving this thread. I'm 5' 8" with a 30" inch waist and 30" chest. I'm 145 lbs at race weight and my chest is 38". I wear a Kiwami LD Spider in Small comfortably. Everything points to a small Castelli Free Sanremo SS except the chest. I'm wondering if I should get a Medium Stealth T1 Tri Top instead and a Small Free tri shorts. What do you recommend?

I've got an unused size small if you're interested. I'm basically the same size as you (5'8", 38" chest, 144lb race weight; fits well) but I'm not racing long course for the foreseeable future so I'm never going to use it. My wife bought it as a gift, but we missed the return window.

You're a Large. I'm 6'0", 176,34" waist. Fits like a glove. I'd recommend the new All out speed suit as well (if you like longer sleeves) - i have both the sanremo and the all out, and like the longer sleeves on the all out - they're perfect.

I will order the free san remo and the all out, when available again. Probably will keep the one which suits best and send back the other one.

I have a stealth top to now in XL and shorts also in XL: no way I fitted in L.

So I consider ordering the suits in XL, since they appear to be based on the stealth top?
I'm 6 feet 1 inch and 183 lbs.
