Just tried it. Got to 14s on the first game. We'll see how subsequent games go. Another good one is Three's. Same basic idea as 2048.

Just tried it also. Got to 14 a few times. It's like Tetris. You have to think a few steps ahead. There seems to be few nuances that once you figure those out you can probably go a lot farther.

Try the game "Numb" -- same genre as these...requires math skills for adding and subtracting, so hopefully shouldn't be a problem for any of you guys.

Well since 2048 and 1010 are the only games I really play on my phone I guess I'll have to add 20.

So I've gotten to 20 a couple of times. I assume 20x3 means you built to 20 three times. That would be pretty hard, and you'd have to get lucky with some tiles.

On the other hand, I'm not getting anywhere near your score in 1010.

I don't like it because of the time factor. I find it stressful. I like that I can play 1010 and 2048 at my pace.

Downloaded it on Friday, just got a 20 tonight after probably two to three hours' total playing. Lots of 16, 17, 18, and a few 19 games leading up. The trick (if you want to call it that) is to not leave any mess behind. Combine everything you can and note that it only gives you a new row when you run out of moves to make, or when the timer expires. So if you build in a couple of vertical columns (say, one on each side of the board), with a free column adjacent, you will be able to make more moves, more frequently, and keep the mess down.

I've gotten to 14+ a couple of times with six or seven tiles on the board.

It's pretty good, but definitely easier the more you play. I get to 20 pretty routinely, and got to 20x7 yesterday.

After you get 20, it keeps going and you continue to try to get more 20s, but you keep going from roughly the same place, i.e. you don't have to go all the way back to where you're only getting 1s and 2s and 3s, etc.

20x? means you got 20, ? times.

How does Danny Hart sit down with balls that big?

My daughters bring these stupid games into the house. I have developed a strategy for quitting (these things always end up being an addiction problem for me). I get to an interestingly high score and then seek to leave the game in that state. For 1010 that was only 10000, but the screen coincidentally is blank but for two boxes. I did the same for 2048. Now if anyone asks about the game I can open it up on my phone, show them the current score, and then explain how I can't allow that to be messed up right now.

Now I'm trying Ballz. I was going to quit at 1000 but didn't have the willpower. 10,000 would be interesting to see, but I'm hoping to figure out a way to quit before then. The problem with Ballz is that you can cheat; there's no reason you'd have to lose.

Took me a while, but I finally got my strategy down. 3 columns, attack the connected pieces first, move everything off the bottom row, especially high numbers, then hit the rest.

Nice! I've been consistently hitting 20x1 and 20x2. I got 20x4 about a week ago and couldn't top it until yesterday when i got a 20x6. My last game was 20x4.

Nice. I'm stuck at 20x5. I did however learn last week you can move the starting # up from 5 to 15. That made a big difference for my frustration level

I saw that, but I've been starting at 5 anyway. Does it make a big difference to start at 15? I just assumed that meant it also started at a higher speed, and with the more complex groups of tiles.

It made a giant difference for me. The board starts higher (4 rows). Sometime it's almost impossible to start clearing it. Most of the time I can get it cleared almost completely. Starting at 5 just seemed super slow. Changing to 15 seemed to speed it all up. The overall game that it.

Got to 20x14. Usually get to 20x6+. Certainly easier/faster starting at 15. My strategy was to have three columns and prioritize only having three tiles on the bottom row. Once you get to 20x10 it's usually bedlam...

This game needs to go away now.

Nice. I got to x17 a couple of times. I've been sticking with starting at 5s. I don't really have a strategy. I just keep matching the tiles as quickly as I can. Maybe I should think up some sort of plan.

If i start at 15, I can get to 16 or 17. I'm missing something, either a reliable strategy or brain cells. Probably both.

I'll get to the point where there's two or three empty rows at the top and the rest is a solid mess. Nothing to play. So I blink my eyes and watch the timer tick down....

I basically try to get it here. But once you get to x10 one mistake is the end...

Nicely done. I lost some momentum after I got to 20x17. Maybe I'll have to reengage and see if I can't make it that little bit further.

I had it in my head that something would happen at 20x20, nope... it just goes so quickly at that point that one errant move and the game is over.

So this has become a staple game of mine since this thread.

I now usually get 20 16-18 times when I play. My pr is 21.
