$$$$ Sport
I am seriously figuring out how spendy this sport can be. I am struggling to get the basics, it is so frustrating. I cut corners everywhere I can when it comes to the bike, I got a set of Look pedals on E-Bay for $25 but I cant for the life of me get a break on the shoes and cleats. I have been trying for 2 months now to get a pair of shoes to be able to use these pedals to no avail. I hate using cages, they just plain suck. So, whats the best place to score a good deal on a set of shoes, a previous post a month ago said REI but they arent running anything fantastic. I am just trying to get a pair of run of the mill 47 that accept look pedals. Ideas?

Wait till the end of the season and score some at an LBS over the winter. I got my Sidi T1s for about 99 bucks that way. I also got a 2 year old (but brand new) pair of Sidi Genius 4s for 99 dollars.

Or just use a 20 percent off performance coupon.

Dude, don't skimp on the shoes. Sidi's will kick ass on any house brand from Performance and Nashbar. It's the tongue construction that's the deal-breaker for me -- most of them have all these huge ridges that just ACHE when not wearing socks (which I never do on the bike).

I have a pair of DMT's (R3's, I think) that I got off of EBay to use as winter shoes/second shoes whatever and when they came, the sizing was way the hell off so I never use them. I wear a 45 in Sidi and these are way big - at least a 46. If you think they may fit you they are yours for shipping cost (couple bucks I imagine). Silver with some blak and red accents, 3 velcro straps. If they don't fit, give them to someone else that will use them....ahh TSR lives on.

PM me if interested.

I have a set of Shimano (47's) tri shoes. If you are interested...they are hardly used, I didn't like them. They are sitting here collecting dust. Just send me a PM with an offer and they are yours.
