"New" idea for aero?

I was browsing through the Cycling News website and found this photo (the only one) of Gerolsteiner on the way to winning the Pro Tour TTT in Eindhoven:

I was impressed that they kind of came out of nowhere to beat Phonak and CSC to the line, but what caught my eye in the picture is the bars that they were using. It looks to be a pursuit/aerobar combo with only one set of forward pointing extensions or somewhat extended, somewhat narrower pursuit bars with elbow rests. You wouldn't have your forearms to break the air for you, but you wouldn't have to shift your hands to far to stand up and hammer and you've got both shifters and brakes right at your fingertips. Interesting concept...and apparently effective in this case.
