Some shoe help for my baby girl
Hello ladies,

My little 14 year old daughter is looking at going out for track this year and I was wondering about some general advice and specifically what kind of shoes I should look into.

She currently runs in Asics Nimbus when shes not in soccer shoes ( most of the time) but I would like to get her intoa little less shoe.( lighter)

Shes a neutral midfoot runner with no physical problems.

Any other general info would be appreciated.

Hi i would recommend, one of the online stores i use road runners sports, you can answer a bunch a questions,ie: weight, hight activity, they will recommend the best shoe, also if they do not work for her, you can send them back even if you run out doors and they'll send another pair.
I am small(105 pounds) i wear addizero, they are only 7 oz's, i love them.

What will she be running? As you know sprinter's shoes are going to be different from miler's. Long time ago when track and field was first invented and I ran in jr high and high school, we ordered our shoes through the school. Maybe they don't do that anymore.

I run in Asics Nimbus, Mizuno wave Riders, Asics Landreth, Mizuno Ronin; listed in order from "fattest" to "skinniest" . You want less shoe: Ronin or Landreth. The Landreths are a bit wider which is part of why I like them so much but the Ronins are sa-weet!

Buy a few types and let her rotate thru them.

Well I am unsure of what she plans on running so the plan was just to start transitioning her to lighter shoes.

Thank you. Thats what I do as well. Buy em and try em lol.

She seems excited about it and shes pretty damn fast so I am sure she will enjoy it.

Now if I can just get her to get past her "fear" of not being in good enough shape for this summers soccer conditioning.

Yeah, that's probably a good plan.I also run in Nimbus and used to run in DS trainers. I don't know if they still make those. They're probably light enough for the track but still offer good support.

Ladies thank you for the assist. I decided to get her the Asics Tarther to start out with and see how she likes them. To me the fit seemed somewhat similar to a Nimbus fit with a hair more room in the toe box and a lot less weight. I tried them and a few other pair to try to get an idea of the fit. I dont run in Nimbus anymore but I still wear them around so I was basing it on that. I also tried on the Hyperspeed but settled on the Tarther.

Daddy got a pair also and once my knee heals Ill be trying them out. :)

Thanks again

My daughter called and told me she took second in the 200-400 and 800 in her first meet so I guess the shoes worked :)
