Cervelo P2SL -- your height, your frame size?
What size frame are you guys riding for your height? Accordingly, how does it fit? Too stretched out? Too crunched? Do you have to turn around your seat tube and move your seat all the way forward to get it to fit? All things I'd like to hear. Thanks.

Furthermore, I'm 6'1". Opinions on frame size?

I'm 5'11" and on a 54. Fits me well and is allowing me to move into a more aggressive position than I likely could have gotten into on a 56, although the 56 would likely have worked as well.

6' 1/4" on a 56cm. Seems to fit just right, or maybe a tad long, but correct stem/bars puts my elbows where I want them. My saddle is pretty far forward, but that's to get the right hip angle (I have a decent drop).

(edit)

33-34" inseam.

I'm 5'11" and was fit on a 58cm by Mr. Demerly himself. I had the post flipped forward and the saddle a little forward of center. I don't know that height is a very good indicator for frame size. There is some correleation, but it can vary a lot.

Son is 5'11.5" an rides a 54 P2SL. The fit is IMO perfect when he rides it for triathlons with the seat nose considerably more than 5 cm ahead of the BB.

I do have to say that at this time I am a bit confused as to whether he should ride a 54 in the UCI TT position.

5'9" and rode a 54 cm P2K with 650c wheels. Don't know how that stakes up against the newer 700c P2SL sizes

I'll post this again, right from the Cervelo site:

1) Many people could ride two frame sizes and because riders of a certain height could ride one size or another based on other body dimensions and things like flexibility.
2) This assumes a forward position (as most triathlete and good time trialers use), a shallow position tends to lead to a smaller frame.
3) For people with a relatively long torso, they will usually ride a relatively big frame. They will need to pay extra attention to getting a stem with not too much rise and an aerobar with not to much stack height. The reverse is true for people with a relatively short torso.

Keeping that in mind, the ranges are:

48cm - 5' to 5'6"
51cm - 5"5 to 5'9
54cm - 5'8 to 5'11
56cm - 5'10 to 6'1
58cm - 6'0 to 6'4
61cm - 6'3 and up

I'm 5'11" but due to my proportions, I'm a tweener. Got three opinions on fit before my purchase: two said 56, one said 54. Got the 56 and am happy.

Be careful about that chart if you are thinking in buying a P3C to be ridden under UCI regs. You may end up looking for a (hard to find) 50 or 60 mm stem.

5' 11" on a 54 cm P2SL. But then, I'm a roadie running a rearward seatpost, nose 3cm behind the BB. Does any of this help? Are you "just curious" or actually looking to fit on a frame?

I can't say much about my having a long or short torso (I'll probably go to a bike shop in a couple days to try a 56 and 58 cervelo frame), but untill then..can you see any reason why if I get a 58 frame (I"m 6'1", so I'm on the low end of that 6-6'4 spectrum) and it was a bit too long that I couldn't just get a shorter stem? Or is there some problem with doing that I just don't know about?

I'm 5' 9.5" & ride a size 54. Seatpost is in the rearward position with saddle 2.5cm behind the BB, 90mm -17deg stem with no spacers (8mm headset cap only). A 51 was appealing with the short HT but in hindsight I made the right decision to "size up". I'll likely move forward in the offseason (begins April) by flipping the post and getting a longer, lower stem...a 51 would've been too small to achieve the position I'm ultimately seeking.

I am 6ft. and ride a 56 with no forward seatpost and saddle mid. I could have probably stepped down to a 54, but the price was right on the 56 and it works just fine.

I disagree. Height and frame size have an extremely strong correlation. Overall height will get you down to at least 2 frame sizes (and often 1).
From there, adjust saddle height and for and aft and put on an appropriate length stem.

5"9.5" - I ride 54 or 56 in a Cervelo (usually 56 so I don't hit knees on pads)
76.5 saddle height
52cm reach (nose of saddle to center of stem)
Drop = 6" (15cm)

I am about 6 ft as well and the price is right on the 54. My inseam is 36in or 91.4cm I have longer legs then upper body. Will this work?? Or should I stay patient.

I really don't know what to tell you. It seems to me that if you have a 36" inseam your seat would have to be pretty dang high on a 54. Sounds to me like you would have to step up one size, but I am no expert.

Funny how these things evolve over time...now in the forward position with saddle 1.5cm in front of the BB, 115mm -17deg stem with no spacers, 76cm saddle height and 17cm drop...quite a difference to the position mentioned above 18 months ago :)

I am 6' 1" on a P3 size 58, 90mm stem, no spacers, saddle in forward position and almost all the way forward. 12(ish) cm of drop (? from memory). Got the bike used. 33" inseam. I "could" also go with a 56, but would need 1 cm of spacer and a 100-110mm stem to keep things even. And use the 25mm risers on the Vision armrests; could use the 12mm but these "feel" better and I can keep my elbows and hands closer together for some reason. I also cut the 270mm ski-bend extensions down just a bit so that my hands naturally land on the shifters. Average torso.

EDIT: After thinking on this for a bit, if I were to get a new bike it would be a 56 P2. That would match exactly how I'd want my current P3 to be.

Just picked up a P2K and was trying to decide between the 53 and 55. I ended up getting the 55 and have it set up on the trainer. 20mm of spacers on a 90mm long syntace stem with the post in the forward position and saddle height right at 710mm. It fits like a dream and I feel that I can ride in the aero position for an hour on the trainer which was something that I could not do before on any bike I had set up. I think the drop is about 9-10cm currently.

I am 5'10" not very flexible and a 31.5' inseam. I think I could have gone with a 53cm frame but the head tube was only 90mm tall and I think that would have been not enough for my back issues.

YRMV, but I'm 5'9" and change with a 33" inseam. I've comfortably ridden a 54cm P2-SL with no spacers (120mm HT), but I couldn't get as much drop as I would like. I now ride a 51cm P2 with no spacers (90mm HT). IMHO, it fits, and rides, quite nicely. Then again, I ride fairly steep (PD Tristryke about all the way forward on the rails). So, a 54cm may work for you, but I'd be reluctant to buy it without riding one first.

I'm 5-7" and I ride a 53 or 54cm? P2K with 650 wheels. I find it a touch small and ride it with the seat in the forward position, and with a 120mm stem. If I set the seat back, I feel really tight in the hips and can't breathe properly. (although I do have heart/lung breathing issues with heart and asthma meds every day)

I'm in this dilemma too. I'm just a hair under 5'10, yet I only ride with a saddle height of 73.5cm as I have a small inseam for my height.
I see people who are 5'11 saying that a 54 fits perfect, and people who are 5'9 saying a 54 fits perfect...
Anyone have a pic of a 51 P2C set up with a saddle height of 73 or 74cm???
I tried a 54 recently, and didn't need many spacers for the bars, but in order to not be reaching way out for the armrests, we needed to put like a 7 or 8cm stem on it, and that was with the saddle pushed pretty far forward. And if it matters, the standover height of the 54 being around 77.5cm, was basically just touching me when standing over the bike.
I'm thinking a 51cm would work better for me, even if it means I might need 2.5cm of spacers??

Find a professional fitter before you buy your bike. It will be one of the best investments you can make.
That being said, I'm 5'7'' and ride a P2-SL size 54, forward seat angle (79-80 degrees), 90mm stem, 20mm spacers (these are temporary, while I work on my flexibility).

I hope this helps.

6'2.5" and I ride a 58 P2 (2009 carbon)

I don't know my exact inseam, but I have very long legs, specifically long femurs, and a shorter torso. my legs would fit a 60cm frame, but my body would be closer to a 56-58. The P2 works for me because of the taller headtube (more stack) and shorter reach. I have to raise the seat very high on a 58 to accomodate my legs, and on a "lower" frame, there is just too much drop (P3 would not work for my body unless I really stacked the spacers). As it is, I have additional spacers and am in a pretty aggressive position. I also ride a very short stem, but not exactly sure of the measure. Seatpost is in the forward position, but seat is generally centered on the rails.

I tried to fit on a B12, but couldn't make it work. There wasn't enough seatpost on the 58 to accomodate my long legs (not sure if there is an extra long seatpost available) and the reach on a 60 cm was too much. in fact the reach on the 58 even seemed to be a little too much for me. I have been told that some of the Scotts would also fit my characteristics well, but I haven't ever ridden one.

I ride a 58 cm CAAD9 road bike, which also has a tall headtube.

Without knowing anything about your body type I would say you should probably start on a 56 unless you have some strange body characteristics.

I'm right with you, 6'1" 33" inseam and I am on a Dual 56cm with the seat post full forward and the seat jacked all the way forward, with 15cm of drop, 80.3cm saddle height, 90mm stem. I feel a bit scrunched and also like I am a kite in the wind, but I can't go lower without having hip angle issues. I was fit on that frame and believe it to be the best I can get with what I have. I am having a FIST fit on Monday and hopefully will come out of that with a better position and different stack and reach numbers. I think I will end up being on a 58 Cervelo, probably a P2C, maybe a P3. I'll let you know what the verdict is, I am itching to get a new frame/position and start adapting! I think the old rule of thumb has always been ride a size smaller than your road position (I ride a 58 solid) but for my proportions and current frame it's not working.
