I haven't been around for a few weeks. I've had a niggle in my leg, so haven't been doing so much sport. I initially tried to run through it, but you know sooner or later it becomes obvious rest is the best medicine, so I tried running with more rest in between runs :-P Thinking lots of small runs might help with rest days in between, but my leg kept getting better and then worse again. Anyway, a week off running seems to have helped and I ran pain free today. Lets see how the rest of the week goes.
I've also been preoccupied with my eldest dd. I think I mentioned in a previous post that we're trying to change schools. We're lucky to have a boarding school nearby for gifted children and my dd would like to go there. It's the only one in the state and really difficult to get a place. As we live nearby she would be an external pupil, but she might have the choice later (if it works out), to stay at the boarding school. The best thing is that this school is a very well funded state run school, so it's all affordable :-).
She has already past two of the three entrance criteria including an IQ test. The last and third hurdle is to spend two project days at the school, this is to assess their social skills, motivation and I think just generally see if they're suitable for the school. These take place tomorrow and Thursday. I'm so proud of my girl, she's dealing with the nervousness and excitment so well.
So back to sport....my goals for this week (if my leg behaves) run x5 (2 done), swim x2 and bike x2. I'll be climbing too!!
