If you can swing 2 to 3 weeks, why not. I went 2 days before the race and it wasn't as bad as I expected. Didn't feel the altitude at all until the run and at that point the heat was worse than air density.
Edit: Maybe I should clarify that by "as bad as I expected" refers to the altitude's effect on my performance. It wasn't a comfortable run by any means but I was still able to be a couple minutes from my PR at the time.
