I'm very curious to see what this thread turns up.
My Quarq is paired with a 510 head unit and a 920 watch. During training I don't wear the watch...just use the 510 for power metrics. pairing and connecting are fine while training.
For 3 of my last 4 races, the Quarq pairs and connects with the 920, but not the 510.
On race morning, I wake up the Quarq, and it immediately connects to the 920, and after about a minute, connects with the 510. I have auto power down and auto pause disabled on the 510....when I get out of the water, the Quarq has gone into sleep mode...so I expect a lag before I see power numbers on either the 920 or the 510. After the Quarq wakes up, it connects to the 920....but never connects to the 510.
Any ideas? Garmin supports says it has to be an issue with the Quarq. Quarq support doesn't seem to have a clear answer. So far, its a mystery. I even tested a race simulation the night before, and everything worked fine (although I don't think I waited long enough for the quarq to go into sleep mode)...something seems to happen when I "reawaken" the Quarq, and it doesn't want to connect to both Garmin units.
I will most likely get the quick release setup for the 920, and put it on a bike mount during a race (and just forget about the 510 for races).
