That seems to be the crank that they're promoting to bike brands for OE spec. So the bike is 'primed' for a spider upgrade
The spider looks a lot like the special FSA Gossamer used for Power2Max PMs, so perhaps you are on to something here. Maybe we're seeing an emerging PM spider standard?
Edit: Never mind. I misunderstood what you said, read the BikeRumor article Pyrhana linked, and looked at the Quarq website. I'm way off base. The P2M/Gossamer version is 6 bolts.
