At the exception of the Kameleon, all our trisuits, including the Konami are 100% free of rubberizzed material. They do not cover the neck nor extend past shoulders and knees. They do have a zipper and this is allowed.

My take for Kona: I do not think you would get any specific advantage by swimming in your Konami or any trisuit with front opening and with open pockets. I would even say you may be slowed down.

I would suggest two routes: the Mako (our "speedo") or the Jammy (our "jammer"), and then put the trisuit on at transition.
Other route: our super light, super fast and no shamy Amphibian trisuit to swim in. Its zipper is in the back (no drag) and it has no pocket. I do think that suit may help you with a faster swim.
It is legal.
Then, you could switch to a more "comfy" kit if you deem it necessary.
