Use a prescription medication called 5-fluorouracil.
I had a plantar wart that lasted for years and before getting a prescription for this from a dermotologist, tried everything commonly suggested: liquid nitrogen, salicylic acid, surgical cutting (done by a doctor), and maceration (covering with duct tape). FYI, running while using fluorouracil wasn't a problem.
Addition: I just googled it and found clinical trials claim that 95% of plantar warts are eradicated with 12 weeks use of 5-fluorouracil.
