Re: Dec 15th: We're ON 100 Runs in Run Days Challenge [devashish_paul]
So I was really excited about starting this challenge after a long layoff due to the onset of some sedentary habits. I went for my first run after getting my left knee hyperextended in a freak accident and it felt alright - sore, but no more pain than standing still before the run. After that morning run, I went to see the doctor and was diagnosed with a medial meniscus tear. I'm waiting for a MRI to confirm (it could just be a bad strain) but what I'm wondering is if I can keep running. Walking doesn't really hurt, just straightening my leg completely and climbing up and down stairs.

I don't want to get "caught up in the challenge" but I was really enjoying the idea of going for maybe the silver or bronze with some strategic rest days. I can't bike because the 90 degree angle of the pedal stroke mimics the pain of climbing stairs.

Anyone have a similar knee issue and successfully run through it?

All opinions are appreciated.
