Course Info: This will be an on the beach start as Belle Isle has a great beach. Olympic distance male/females will start us off at 8:00am
This will be a 4 loop course. Each loop is 5.8 miles. You will have 2.5 lanes dedicated closed and coned the entire way around the island. This will be the inside 2 lanes and bike lane. SLOWER athletes MUST stay to the right along the cones so faster athletes are not blocked. The island is flat, fast, and smooth but can obviously have some windy conditions being an island
Exiting the transition area you will follow the run chute out of the transition area and around the great fountain with the Ambassador bridge and GM Renaissance Center in the background. then you will head down the interior of the island passing many historical land marks on the way. Again super flat, super fast should mean PR's all day long. Water and Gatorade at each mile. You will return with a long 150m finish chute heading right at the great fountain.
More: Awards: Top 3 overall and top 3 in each age group, Clydesdale, Athena, Overall winners in the Olympic distance race will receive lifetime pass.
Finish: Following your finish you will have a cold finishers towel and medal awaiting you. As well as a great post race food tent. Times will be posted throughout the event on the results board. Following the last finisher we will have our great raffle and then the awards ceremony.
Amenities: No racing jersey this year, sorry. T-shirts, finishers towel, great raffle with merchandise from our partners, post race food tent and awards ceremony. ChampionChip timing with all splits provided. Post race A.R.T will be available.
