Course Info: The Course...Over Hill, Over Dale
For triathletes, the event begins with a swim in the clear, cool waters of Apple Canyon Lake with a beach start and finish. The swim-to-bike transition is adjacent to the beach. Duathletes begin with a 2-mile run.
The second leg of the race is a breathtakingly beautiful 16.8-mile bike on the hilly and winding country roads of Jo Daviess County. The second transition area is located in Recreation Park on the outskirts of Galena.
The final leg is a 4.3-mile run, which winds up and down the picturesque lanes and roadways. The finish line is located in Recreation Park, the site of the post race party.

Athlete Awards
Custom designed race awards are given to the top overall male and female finishers in both the Triathlon and Duathlon.
Medals go to the top three male and female finishers in each Triathlon and Duathlon age group.
Directions: Located in the northwest corner of Illinois, Galena is situated within driving distance of most Midwest cities including Chicago (160 miles), Milwaukee (175 miles), Des Moines (215 miles), Minneapolis/St. Paul (280 miles), and St. Louis (320 miles).
