Course Info: The 1500 meter swim takes place in Boulder Reservoir. The 42 kilometer bike leg is a course that has a little of everything as it winds through the beautiful scenery of north Boulder County. About 6 miles into the clockwise loop will ascend 15% Old Stage Hill (600' vertical climb in 2/3 of a mile). From Old Stage it is a beautiful descent down Left Hand Canyon and out onto the Buffalo covered plains. The 10 kilometer run course is a flat and fast out and back jaunt. With the exception of the first and last half mile, the entire course is on the dirt roads of the dams of Boulder Reservoir.
This very popular event, now in its 17th year, was rated by Inside Triathlon, in its Jan/Feb 2006 issue, as the 4th Best Triathlon in the U.S. behind only Escape from Alcatraz, Hawaii Ironman, and Wildflower - great company!
More: The Boulder Peak Triathlon is the second of three races comprising the 2008 Boulder Triathlon Series. The other two are the 5430 Sprint Triathlon on Sunday, June 21, and the 5430 Long Course Triathlon on August 9. There will be $16,000 in cash and gift certificates from sponsors for the top age group finishers in the Series.
Packet Pick Up: Saturday, July 11 between 10:00am and 4:00pm at the Boulder Reservoir. Athletes must attend one of the mandatory pre-race meetings at 10:00am, 1:00pm or 3:00pm. Valuable information regarding the event will be presented and you will have the opportunity to ask questions. You must bring your valid USA Triathlon card and a valid photo ID with you to packet pick up!

From Hwy 36: Head East on Jay Road then turn left onto 51st Street (at the Fire Station). The West Gate entrance to the Reservoir is on the right at the end of the paved road.
From Hwy 119: Head West on Jay Road, take an immediate right onto 51st Steet (at the Fire Station). The West Gate entrance to the Reservoir is on the right at the end of the paved road.
