I'm crewing for Mark Naphin out of Calgary. He and I and Adam crewed last year together . . . Mark is the "athlete" this year!

I hope you can make it out to support these great ultra athletes.

Kate Bevilaqua was first out of the water overall with a women's swim course record of 2:37ish. The first male to finish the swim was about 12-13 minutes later if I recall correctly with third place about a minute behind that. Temperatures are forecast to reach 35 degrees Celcius or higher today so that Richter ride is going to be a scorcher!

Sorry! Two days ago Mark woke up with a sore throat. This morning he has what we think is strep throat. Worse than that he had no equilibrium. We waited on it, got him into the water and he swam very well with about 3:47

Out on the bike however, he got dizzy and had to pull over the side about 30 km in. We let him rest for almost an hour and a half. He got back on his bike and valiantly tried to work his way up richter. Unfortunately he had no energy, a very sore throat, and was too dizzy to continue. We pulled him of the course for his safety.
He has been checked out by medical, he is back at our home resting.
Thanks for all of your support.
