Chain pins?

I ran out of 9 speed chain pins. Will a Shimano 10 speed chain pin work on a 9 speed Shimano chain?

Habitual line stepper.

9 Speed Pin = 6.5mm
10 Speed Pin = ~6.0mm

The 10 speed pins also have a different groove setup.

I would recommend using the correct pin.

Cheap generic versions are ~3 for $1.50 on ebay. I broke a chain on a recent ride and ordered a few to keep in my jersey pocket while I waited for my wife to rescue me =(

Definitely bin them and use the KMC links. SO much easier. Pins are the work of the devil.
