Does a saddle tilting down open the hip angle or close it?

It opens the hip angle. The problem I've had is that when I tilt the saddle down, I tend to slide down off of it, which puts lots more pressure on my shoulders to keep me planted. I actually keep my saddle flat, or pointed slightly up. I also use the Adamo Prologue, which still allows me to keep my hip angle more open even with it tilted slightly upward.
Is this the same for a selle smp? I would of thought pulling your belly to the top tube and bum out would close it?
