Cote: Well, it's not like we hang out there at night figuring out whose sideburns have less drag.

Now THAT'S ironic ;)

"On a round-tubed frame, having a bottle on your seat tube is more aerodynamic than not having one at all, and it's much more aero than putting it on the down tube."

Is it true a round bottle on a Cannondale Caad8 seat tube is more aero than no bottle?

Someone that memorizes aero data might chime in here ---- but he didnt say a round bottle. He said a bottle ---- I'd imagine the Bontrager, Arundel, Torhans, etc bottle IS faster than no bottle at all.

Am I supposed to be impressed that an MIT kid uses spreadsheets? Fuck I make my grocery list on a spreadsheet.

Cote: Believe it or not, last night I calculated how fast we would race today, using a spreadsheet and everything.

It is but the points made within it are still by and large valid.

Except some of them. I think it's been demonstrated that gloves can be more aero than no gloves. If they're aero gloves.

The bottle thing is a bit ambiguous, as noted.

I think he made a bit of a scientific faux-pas in taking the findings from their n=1 aero testing and then making grand generalizations based on that.
