Thanks

For the data on my last build for a 70.3, here is the data I had.

HF averaged between 3700-6700. LF averaged between 9400-12200.

The day before the race (tapered and well rested), my HRV was 92 and my HF was 6100, LF was 6000

The day after the race (should be worn out), my HRV was 84, HF 1900, LF 5800.

two days after race, HRV 95, HF 5100, LF 12000

I took data religiously for nearly the whole year and I didn't see any difference day to day, week to week, or month to month due to training. I did notice that my avg HR would raise and/or my HRV would drop if I hadn't slept well or I was sick. Past that, my data rarely changed. I've more or less concluded the data I get from this app (and HRV in general) isn't worth the time I've put into it. Perhaps I'm interpreting something incorrectly and I'd be interested if there were something I could learn from it.

BTW, I use the Sweetbeat app. I'd also be interested to learn from others if there is a better app to use. I like the way this app interfaces w you and how it reports the data, but it's only minimally useful due to the difficult (see: nearly impossible) task of getting the data out of the app. I've written Sweetwater and they confirmed there is no way to get the data out of the app. I then asked them if they could somehow email me the raw data points for the year and didn't get a response.

I'm a data fanatic, but data that I can see, but not touch really isn't useful to me. Surely other apps will allow you to download the data, but I honestly I haven't done much looking for one yet.

I haven't been using Sweetbeat continuously recently due to issues with my phone but I did track the 5 weeks in July/August as I prepared for the UCI Tour of Alberta. Interestingly when I started using HRV in July I was frustrated by inconsistent form and fatigue to the degree that I hired a coach to help me find a way out. He immediately reigned in my volume and increased my rest and intensity of key sessions. The results were pretty clear in terms of my HRV as well as performance:

July 28th: Middle of hard block of volume and poor performance at Cascade Classic Stage Race the week before: HRV 81, LF 885 (!!!), HF 2700
August 3rd: After more hard training and 2 days before starting with my coach: HRV 79, LF 4200, HF 1000
August 4th-9th: Coach implements mandatory rest days and low volume, intensity focused training sessions (about 30% less volume): HRV rises from 82 to 98 (82,86,88...), LF/HF goes from the 1000-3000 range to 11000/7500 on the 9th.
August 14th: As training intensity ramps up and I focus more and more on rest/nutrition numbers reach peak levels: HRV 105, LF 18000/HF 15000
Levels maintained from August 15-21 as training ramp continues HRV over 100, Frequencies between 10 and 16 thousand mostly
August 22nd-24th: I "Crack" and training goes to shit, can't hit numbers and sleep is bad. Coach mandates 3 day rest period. HRV down to 87, LF1000/HF 4000
August 25th-30th: Feel better and do final intense taper workouts for Alberta: HRV rises to 105, LF/HF average ~10000/8000 with HF continuously climbing

I started the race on September 3rd and had a very good performance taking Team Canada's best result in the Prologue TT. I could be totally wrong about these interpretations but they seem to line up with my health and performance subjectively. SweetBeat is a great little tool, highly recommended.

Here is the graph for the month.

Comparing between users is not recommended (strongly) by the creators of the application because it's not a variable that has any population values that can be used for comparison. When it comes to HRV, we are all snowflakes. What someone else has is totally irrelevant to your values.

Thanks but all I wa interested in was the ratios between LF and HF during fully rested and stressed states. The value of actual numbers is irrelevant to me.
