I was swimming in the lane beside the swim team kids and there was a point during #7 or 8 where they were doing a set using paddles, pull buoys, ankle bands and drag chutes and they were keeping up with me. That was annoying.

Saturday 11/29

Morning swim, still entirely pulling as my psoas hasn't unraveled yet. :/

1000ez
40x50 on :50 mix of paddles/band/sprint etc
300ez cd

Felt like hell until ~2000 in, hadn't swam since monday and generally felt not so great.

As usual, 2hr ride later, and maybe some core work.

Hope all are doing well!!

"Don't you have to go be stupid somewhere else?"..."Not until 4!"

I'm still not swimming, but I walked a record 3 miles today in 1:10! WOOHOO! My pace was slowed by an old woman who wanted to know where I got my back brace... "from the hospital", I'm sure that was worth 3 minutes.
I have friends that went ocean swimming today. I'm so bummed - still somewhere in the 80s in So.Cal., water visibility is like 20 feet and can still warm enough to swim without a wetsuit.

First off, i hate you for living somewhere where you could still contemplating OWS in the ocean! Secondly, glad to hear you are moving. I wish i could donate some of my extra miles to get you to "FLOG 500"... Best of luck getting back in the pool in December.

Congrats on the walking miles! That's excellent. How's the pain?

Back in the water today after two days out. Thursday (Thanksgiving): 6.5 mi run and 12 mi bike; Friday 12 mi run and 8 mi bike; today 25 mi bike, 9 mi run, 1100 yd swim

500 w/u
3 x 25 stroke/25 kick
2 x [50 fly + 50 kick]
150 c/d

I am now 6.23 miles behind on the FLOG :P

maybe she's born with it, maybe it's chlorine

What pain? HaHa... still sore around the incision and the brace keeps the weight off of my fused spine bit, but I've been sitting at my computer for a good hour with no problem. My lower leg still has numbness and some tingles, at least it doesn't hurt! Plus, I stopped taking the pain pills (hydromorphone) on Thanksgiving.

What's your FLOG goal? I think I will be able to make my 500 by year's end.

I'm just trying to get to 365.25 for the average of a mile a day.

If I don't make it, I will use some fancy mathematics and reinterpret the word "average". If I use it to mean "median" or "mode," I am pretty sure both of those are over 1760 yards ...

This oughta help... You know, TC, for some reason, a pool swim mile is 1650.
