Wheel weight, Analytical Cycling, etc

Does that website exist anymore, Analytical Cycling? Do I have the name wrong? For some reason I can't find it.

Anyway, how do you convince someone that a couple hundred grams off their wheels will not make them faster? Will not have them flying up the climbs? Are there easy to understand formulas/explanations posted somewhere online?!

It appears to be down the last couple of days, don't know if that is permanent.

There is also:
http://www.cyclingpowerlab.com/PowerModels.aspx

and
bestbikesplit.com

I might have to make my own!

Dunno, the who.is webpage lists it as inactive. Lists a domain I have registered as active, even though I have no hosting/nameservers for it yet.

It's been down at least a couple of weeks I think. I know I was trying to use it a while ago and couldn't find it.

Tom Compton ran the site (I believe it's Katie Compton's dad, interestingly enough).

You can find his contact info here: http://analyticcycling.blogspot.com/

Yes, Katie's dad - he once told me he used ice cream rewards to encourage her to go on bike rides as a child.

IIRC, the website originally arose as a way of illustrating the analytical tools of the company for which Tom worked. Perhaps he's retired now,, and/ir the webiste is otherwise not worth maintaining?

In any case, my hat's off to Tom for his contributions to the cycling community.
