Isn't the price going up for those of us coaches that just use pay per client accounts? As far as I understand that option will no longer be available and the cost to host the new option is more expensive whether you have more clients or not.

Yes, the Coach Editions will go up a bit. $2 per user per month up if you have 5 Premium athletes when you move to the Coach Edition (5 athlete limit). If you have more than 5 and you move to Coach Edition Unlimited it'll be no more than $5 per Premium athlete per month, less if you have more than 10 Premium athletes.

The Athlete Edition is not going up in price.

When does this go into affect and is there an email notice of the fee structure changes?

You should have gotten this email (or one similar) to the address associated with your coaching account. I don't know the exact date.

"We are contacting you to let you know about upcoming changes to the pricing structure and billing dates of your TrainingPeaks coaching account. Read the following details to see how these changes will affect you. Please note that no action is needed from you at this time.

New Coaching Structure

Currently, you are paying $49/month for Unlimited Basic Clients (UBC). In the coming months your account will be transitioned to a new option called Coach Edition Unlimited. You will be prompted in your account to select this new option and update your billing information.

How these changes affect you:

Pricing will remain $49/month with the inclusion of 1 Premium account. You will still have the option to add Premium athletes for $9/month. A new volume discount structure will be available.

Your bill will now be processed at the end of each month. Over the next few months, your Coach Edition Unlimited charge will be prorated through the end of that month. This is being done to align all payments into a single charge.

As you can see, there is no change in the pricing, and in fact we are including more features with this option. The biggest change you will likely see is the date of processing for your billing.

New Coach Edition Option

In the coming months we will also roll out a new option which we are calling Coach Edition. This option includes 1 Premium athlete account plus 4 Basic athlete accounts for only $19/month. You can also add Premium clients for $9/month. If you choose, you will have the option to switch to the Coach Edition option through your account settings.

Please see our FAQ page for more detailed information on what this may mean for you.

We fully understand the impact this may have on your business, and we want to assure you that we are committed to making this transition as smooth as possible. Please contact our Customer Success Team to discuss any questions you may have regarding this change. We greatly appreciate your continued business and support of TrainingPeaks.

See you on the road,

Gear Fisher

CEO "

Kevin, thank you for mentioning the Addaero Solo platform. You are correct, we provide data analysis at a very high level. Our coaches that require additional analysis use 3rd party software or use the direct link to Garmin that is in every Garmin based workout result. We differentiate from Training Peaks in an number of areas, most important how workouts are built, communication between the coach / athlete and coach / group, and pricing.

Cheers

We are fortunate to have a number of coaching groups that have 50+ clients. Most of these clients have more than 1 coach managing the communication and athletes training plan. Efficiently managing the communication between the coach and athlete is generally the most difficult barrier to overcome as the client base expands. Email communication becomes unwieldy due to the sheer number of emails generated from each completed workout. It is interesting to observe each coach's workflow as their coaching business grows and the demand on their time increases. It is all about efficiency. Here is a blog post we penned recently on communication within the software http://blog.addaero.com/...d-path-to-community/

Jaymz, I recently read your post about the communication between the coach and athlete via the coaching interface. We rolled out a communication tool over the summer that addresses this issue. Sorry for the marketing spiel but I felt it was important to let you know that it exists - here is our blog post on the release http://blog.addaero.com/...d-path-to-community/

Currently we support coach to athlete communication, coach to coaching group, coach to group, and group member to group member. This new functionality has been very well received.

Cheers,

Addaero Team

I just did an interview with Joshua Ross from Addaero. Its a great coaching and athlete tracking tool. Others have mentioned that it doesn't quite have the back-end analysis but I've not found that to be a problem. I typically use golden cheetah and others like Strava for that. The price is MUCH better and they do a great job meeting the needs of coaches. The ability to plan, drag and drop workouts, manage a number of athletes, create group plans, add strength training is more is FAR superior to Training Peaks in my opinion. (QT2 Uses it for their training) I was an old user of Training peaks and switched to beta when they first moved over. I gave it a good six months and after many feature requests and bugs went unanswered I just dropped it all together.

If you want to listen to the interview we did a pretty darn thorough job in explaining the service. Josh also gave us discount code that you're free to use.

Looks like it might address some of the issues. Is there a video shopping it in action, it's a bit hard to see how it actually works from a screen grab. Or is there a demo account set up I can try?

Jaymz, here is the overview video of the Addaero Solo activity feed https://addaero.zendesk.com/...-Video-Activity-Feed. This functionality was developed in collaboration with a core group of endurance coaches.

You are welcome to sign-up for a 14-day trial and try Solo. If you need more time please let us know and we can extend your trial.

Thanks. Back and forth communication between coach and athlete is such a fundamental part of the training process I can't believe that other areas are not built on top of that foundation. Not being able to communicate and be alerted to the fact that some communication has taken place is weird. Glad to see it is being addressed.

Hi

I see the option for Power Profile and have selected various dates but it tells me that no power info is available during selected date range. Power info is there, I have a peak power graph showing me the correct info. I have changed the dates to this year, last year and various other dates but to no avail.

Power Profile is based on Watt/Kg so I'm guessing you don't have a weight entered. Create a Metric entry with your weight and you should be good to go

I got the same thing. With classic the flash player crashes all the time. With beta I get a blank screen. I can't win.

Try again using your browsers "porn" mode (aka Incognito, InPrivate, Private). If it works there then you need to clear your browser cache.

Do you know if they're going to be moving over the weekly goals or is that going away? I always give my athletes a few goals each week, but it doesn't look like I can do that in beta.

The new interface is much nicer, congratulations. Glad to see that selections & zooming in stacked graphs now works properly, that was my biggest hurdle in the beta interface. What about averages on the dashboard charts, that's missing and something I liked.
