I stopped tri for 11 years, and I think when I started again I had forgotten how much time in training it takes, how much fun it is, how chaotic a swim start can be, how easy it is to make a mistake in transition, how poor bike handling skill are in some triathletes, how slower running is after swimming and cycling.

Excellent! I haven't stopped since I went back to tri. And I forgot to mention: it's addictive ;) :)
