What group would the car stay with when the group splits apart on a long twisty climb? Would it abandon dropped riders? Making an overtaking group of ten riders pass on the yellow line to the left of the car, closer to oncoming traffic is a horrible idea. I'd use it on long gravel group rides where we really don't see any gas stations and the terrain is quite rugged. Standard road rides, nope.

Not of interest to me, but somebody I could call that would come get me and my bike would be more worthwhile.

The Canadian version of AAA provides roadside assistance for cyclists.

which I wish AAA provided.

This would be a useful coverage as my spouse is often not immediately available and I don't have friends conveniently located.

In general my rides are chaotic. Check the weather, check my schedule, check my general well being, check my general training plan -- if all yes RIDE, but I often don't know whether I will be riding until I'm headed home from work.

Swim - Bike - Run the rest is just clothing changes.

For me personally, no. For my team or group rides, yes. I know of a club that actually raised enough funds to buy a car and they pay a college student to drive SAG for them on their long weekend rides. It is pretty handy to be able to use an upright pump for flats and to have somewhere you can toss off an extra layer of clothes as it warms up during mid-morning.

Like others here, I can't fathom how the numbers work out for this as a business if you follow a solo rider, but there just might be a business doing this for clubs and teams.
