Also - very few no shows. I was at boulder - lots of empty spaces at racks. Tahoe - very few no shows and racks were tight.

Those are solid number to sustain a profitable race. Looking forward to hopefully a good day for everyone in 2015. I assume same weekend as these last few years?

I don't know the details of IM's contract with Tahoe, so I cant make any official statement but only my own thoughts. I hope they push the race up a week or so, to the first weekend after Labor Day.

They obviously can't do it during the summer months. The lake is just too busy for the tourist season. Late spring would be nice weather wise, but the water is too cold. So it has to be after Labor Day. And while the weather and fire can be anything anytime there, the later it is the greater chance of smoke or inclement weather.

i did IMLT last year and read in the local paper that WTC had inked a deal thru 2018 to hold a September race

Yea plus part of the reason the date was chosen was it was after labor day when the heavy volumes of tourists aren't around.
