Horrible race (but great report) from IMWI
Quote | Reply
My friend showed me this story of a really tough day on the IM Wisconsin course. I wanted to share it, since it's all about perseverance -- and I'm doing Chattanooga (my first) in just over a week. Hope I have the guts of this dude if things get tough:

I saw him on the course when I was about 2 miles from the finish and he just did that turn around. My first thought was damn he is tough. My hat was off to him at that point.

Kudos to your friend...I saw him on the course as well, and as soon as I saw his arm in a sling, I thought, damn, that would suck....

That's awesome.... but at the same time, it really sucks.

I think to myself... inure my shoulder like that in a Olympic or 70.3... that day is done, no question, there will be other races. But a IM that you dedicated your whole season and a 10-12 months of training.... hell no. You soldier on.
