Tired of the same old neighborhood roads, traffic, bad drivers? Join the off-road runners for a great and unusual training run. See the swamps and wooded areas saved from development. The Rumson Hash House Harriers again return to the woods and marsh of Edison. Hashing is not a race but a non-competitive group run which follows an off-road course laid out with baking flour. If you like trail running without the competition of a formal race, this will be a fun switch for you. This is a complex and different course through woods, grass, swamp and marsh. Wear old running shoes.

Take Exit 10 and proceed towards Route 287 North to Metuchen. Take 287 to Exit 2A Metuchen/Route 27. Proceed to traffic light at Bridge Street. Make left turn onto Bridge Street. Proceed over the railroad bridge and make a right turn at first light, this is New Durham Ave. Make an immediate left at the next traffic light. Go to the end of that street and make a right onto Durham Ave. The field and parking lot are on your right 1 block away. See Entering the Park below.
From Garden State Parkway Northbound
Take Exit 127 after the Driscoll Bridge and Raritan tolls. Follow signs to Route 287 North. Take 287 to Exit 2A Metuchen/Route 27. Proceed to traffic light at Bridge Street. Make left turn onto Bridge Street. Proceed over the railroad bridge and make a right turn at first light, this is New Durham Ave. Make an immediate left at the next traffic light. Go to the end of that street and make a right onto Durham Ave. The field and parking lot are on your right 1 block away. See Entering the Park below.
From Garden State Parkway Southbound
Take exit 131 and proceed towards the right onto Route 27 towards Metuchen. Go through 5 stoplights as you travel Rt. 27 through Metuchen. The 6th stoplight is Lake Ave. Proceed straight through the light and follow the road around a curve to the 1st stoplight and make a right turn. Go to the end of that street and make a right onto Durham Ave. The field and parking lot are on your right 1 block away. See Entering the Park below.
From Route 287 Southbound
Take 287 to Exit 3 New Durham Road exit (towards Metuchen). At the top of the exit ramp turn left onto New Durham Road. After you pass over 287 you will come to a fork in the road. Bear left at the fork (at the Gas
Station). This is Durham Avenue. Proceed down this road (watch your speed) approximately 3/4 - 1 mile and the field and parking lot are on your right. See Entering the Park below.
From Route 287 Northbound
Take 287 to Exit 2A Metuchen/Route 27. Proceed to traffic light at Bridge Street. Make left turn onto Bridge Street. Go to the end of that street and make a right onto Durham Ave. The field and parking lot are on your right 1 block away. See Entering the Park below.
Entering the Park
There is a baseball field next to the parking lot and the soccer fields are behind them. You can park in the parking lot or on John Street which is the street before you reach the field. If you reach the traffic light you have gone too far.

Entering the Park
