I didn't find many details online about pools in Brevard, NC. I will be there Sept 12-14 (fri, sat, sun) and will be looking to swim. Can any locals help out here?

Thanks in advance!

Check out the Brevard Racquet Club. They have day and week passes.

I've also driven over and swam at the YMCA at Biltmore Square if you are a Y member, I have also been to the public outdoor pool in Hendersonville, but not sure if it is still open past Labor Day.

My preference when up there is to drive a little west, enjoy the scenery and go do an open water swim in Lake Glenville, Wolf Creek Lake or Bear Creek Lake. I also have friends who have jumped in and swam at Fairfield Lake near Sapphire.

Yes, bringing a MTB and Road Bike. I picked up a magazine (Bike Transylvania) that had a bunch of trails/routes, but if you have any recommendations, I'm happy to listen!

Lots of good trails at Pisgah for the MTB, but unless you are a diehard avid MTB guy, I would instead recommend Dupont State Forest. Good explanation and GPS maps of all the trails here: http://www.mtbikewnc.com/maps/dupont-state-forest/gps-map

For road bike, if you don't want to do any real climbs, here is a nice ~60 mile loop through the valley (can be shortened or lengthened) http://goo.gl/maps/lYi0Q If you want to take advantage of the topography, the climb up 276 and along the Parkway then down 215 and back is nice http://goo.gl/maps/YP7lV or you can skip the Parkway and keep going down the other side on 276 until it reaches 215 then go up and down 215. If you take the Parkway, there is no place to refill bottles until you get back down to Balsam Grove, and the store there only takes cash. Also, there is a short tunnel at Devil's Courthouse on the Parkway, so legally you are supposed to have a head and taillight on for this section.

PM me if you want any details on places to refuel, bike shops, etc Tons of other good riding, just these are my quick recommendations.

And since you are there on the 13th, watch out for these guys and gals if you ride the Parkway or Hwy215 ;-) http://www.pisgahproductions.com/...monster-cross/about/

Also, while there make sure to swing by the Oskar Blues Brewery/Taproom (http://brew.oskarblues.com/breweries/brevard/tasty-weasel/) and The Hub/Pisgah Tavern (http://www.thehubpisgah.com/) Bike shop with a bar inside.

If you want to know more specifics on open water places to jump in for a swim, PM me (Can't give up all my secrets)

Haha, you are too awesome! I can't wait to check out those breweries! Some of my buddies are doing that race so I'll make sure to avoid them when we are cruising around!

Fixed it. Thanks for the heads up.

Enjoy the weekend and the town/area. The gravel race is on my list for next year. Just have to kill a few more brain cells in order to convince myself to sign up.

Yes, I went to the Brevard Racket Club. If you can't find it, let me know and I will give you an address. This time of year only the indoor pool is open.

I had so much fun biking in the Dupont area, I never made it to the other areas. I biked there a few days and still didn't hit all the trails. It wasn't super technical, more flowy. I totally recommend it.

Let me know if you have any other questions!
