The funniest sign at the Oceanside Marathon: Mile 21 "You with the big boobs, run faster!" I laughed the rest of the way to the finish.

That is VERY funny...but I'm not sure I could get away with that one with my in-laws present and my wife running in the race.

You could hang it on your neighbors house :)

I really like this one, would be a rad poster.

Very common in Germany; Quäl dich du Sau!

Source; During the 1997 Tour, Udo Bölts was noted for the words he shouted to Ullrich when the latter was about to crack: Quäl dich, du Sau! (force yourself, you sod!).

IMFL last year, saw an elderly couple emerging from the sign station. Kindest, sweetest-looking people you could imagine, straight out of a Normal Rockwell ad. Half-expected to see them handing out Werther's Originals on course.

Instead, their sign read "Suck it up, cupcake!" Don't remember the bib number.

Juxtaposition was priceless. Tell you what though, it became my mantra ;)

Post Coueur d'Alene 2007 - There was a house on the Fort Grounds covered in hilarious signs, a few ended up in the window of the brewery downtown the next day!

My personal favorite, seen at Austin 70.3 last year on the run course:

"Legs hurt? Honey Badger don't care."

Had to laugh, despite the urge to smack the girl holding it.

Later!

I think with a bit of punctuation, it is even better. I think this one will be used.

"Worst. Parade. Ever."

I saw exactly this at mile 24 of the Austin marathon 2012. Hilarious!

Two signs, about 5 miles from the finish of a mountain ultra:

Sign 1: "Finish Line - Just around the bend."

.... 100 yards up the trail:

Sign 2: "P.S. Not this bend."

At IM Texas I saw this at mile 90 of the bike...

"If you think your legs are hurting now, just wait until you start the run."

I did a 100 Miles of Nowhere around my condo complex, and a friend brought this sign.

Then, he sat and drank a good portion of my keg.

"where are you guys going?"

"only 25.2 miles to go" - one mile into the run at IMWI last year.

"single and supportive"

and the dude dressed as the grim reaper towards the finish line with a sign reading "the end is near" is always good for a laugh.
