3T extension clamp bolt missing Quote | Reply

I noticed that one of my aerobar extensions was loose, and when I took my allen keys out to tighten it, I found that it was missing entirely! I think that it must have backed out while I was riding, as I have had to tighten both extension clamp bolts numerous times (yes, I should get some blue lock-tite as preventative maintenance). My first thought was to check the 3T website for a small parts kit, which does exist, and would have the bolt that I need:

http://www.3tcycling.com/...sboltskit&pid=82

However, the small parts kit is out of stock on 3T's online store, as well as everywhere else I look. Does anyone know where I could find one of these? I'm somewhat hesitant to ride the bike with a very loose extension, and I don't have any recourse with a local bike shop as I'm currently overseas and the only LBS here in Daegu that sells 3T components (that I know of) just wants to order me a new aerobar.

I know the ST collective knows what I'm looking for! Is there anywhere I could order just the bolt, perhaps? I unfortunately don't know the thread pitch or even how to find it myself, so I'm at the mercy of the ST brain trust.

I've got a handful of extra bolts from a 3T bar around. Which bar? Which bolt? If you can snap a picture of the bolt hole, and I have one, I'd be happy to ship it out.

I stripped the head on one and just went down to the local Home Depot and bought a couple of replacements. Cost something like 67 cents for two replacement bolts. I don't remember the exact size but something like an M4 x 16mm or something like that. You'll find them in the big metal pull out drawers that carry the metric allenhead bolts.

Thanks Mark! It's a 3T Ventus (one of the Bonktown specials from last year), and it is the small bolt that clamps down on the extension. I think most 3T bars use the same clamp and bolt, but I'm not entirely sure. I'll try to get a good picture of it when I get back from work tonight.

Thanks Dave! Home Depot would have been my first thought, but I'm in Korea for the next year and the closest thing we have is a HomePlus, which isn't really all that close at all...

I've got a BRAND NEW set of 3T Aura clamps that I'd like to get rid of. Listed at $66 plus shipping on 3T's website. I can do them for $60 with free shipping.

The New Specialized Wind Tunnel
Will this be a game changer for Specialized, in both sales and product design, or will it not move the sales and design needle versus those in Specialized's competitive set?
Yes, Game Changer
Minor move forward
Won't budge the needle
