Weight aside, Di2 9000 is a big win mainly by having a tiny battery that can go in almost any seatpost and by having multiple plug and lay options for shift buttons They basically look at what people were hacking and incorporated it in the next gen.

Yeah, that has an edge on the multi-purpose system on Campy - then again, you can tune while you ride. We will see what Gen2 brings.
I am betting next July in France there will be more Campy by far than this year - time will tell.

See - here is what you do...you take your Campagnolo Cork Screw and a good bottle of wine.....
what's better? spending $250 on a gimmicky bottle opener or spending $250 on 4-5 bottles of Brunello di Montalcino?

The "can't shift like Campy" argument with di2 is completely moot. I've ridden everything out there, and di2 is simply the best shifting system. Campy's electric is just as good, but a bit different. Their lever feel is better though. And you can adjust di2 on the fly while riding (though it is tricky....and seriously, why would you need to---once di2 is setup, you never, ever, ever have to touch it again).
As for weight....I'm not going to worry about 50-100 grams. IF Campy had the same cassette spacing as Shimano/SRAM, then I would ride their derailleurs/levers, even if they weighed more. However, given that the current 10spd version of di2 is pretty tuneable, with the batteries rather easily transferable (or swap them out for aftermarket with 3x the life b/t charges) to be hidden in the seatpost, and the di3/11speed looking even easier to adapt, I just don't see a real world argument for Campy.
Plus their cranks & brakes are at best, 3rd/4th best overall.

One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.” John Rogers

Nothing gimmicky about the wine opener... it's probably the best wine opener ever made. That was patented by Trulio Campagnolo in 1966... and it's still very much a genius design that works extremely well.

If I had to guess - the easy on ride adjustment is for when you are back on the road after neutral support changes your wheel - designed for pro's.

Not my experience at all. A riding friend of mine has had his in ~2x year for adjustment because the bike starts to sound like a Huffy after 6 months

Have we lowered our standards on here so much that all that we need now to prove Campy over DA is a bottle opener and a belt buckle??

We have two groupsets that work so well that aliens may have delivered the technology...there is less than 100grams between the two....so, we need to find some real areas of difference. A bottle opener and a belt buckle.

I'll accept that. Carry on

I like Quantum reels better than Shimano. Bass Pro Shops house brand (I don't know who makes them for BPS) are also pretty solid. And if anything happens with it they will replace it for you. Their customer service is very good.
