Cow Tipping...seriously, WTF?

Ok. I'm not a farm kid. I was a fishing pond, worm digging, lake swimming kind of kid. So when my wife pressed me on it, I said that I've never seen a cow being tipped. But then I asked her if SHE had. She said "yeah, of course. I'm an Aggie." (apparently this is a rite of passage for Texas A&M??) Anyway what she described was basically two guys bum-rushing and body-checking a heifer onto her side. This is not really the sneaky-quiet, light push, weebles-wobble kind of thing that I've always heard about.
So...seriously: WTF? real or not? Video or it never happened.
Someone toss me a Safety Noodle!

I've never done it but when I was on the farm many people swore they'd done it.
Can't say as though I beleive them for one of several reasons.
First cows are big, really f'n big as in they can crush you to death on accident and they won't know it...small truck big. Second they don't sleep standing up. They rest standing up, but are still pretty much alert. Third they, like most animals are pretty aware of their surrounds. Fourth you'd have to do it quick because if you did it slow they'd just shift their weight toward you and that's a loosing proposition unless you have a dozen guys.
So the only way I can see it happening is if you managed to get at least 2-3 guys, all of who could quickly and quietly sneak up on a cow and hit her hard to knock them over.
Not saying it couldn't be done, but it's not going to be as easy as walking out into a field and pushing a sleeping cow over as it's often presented.
Furthermore god help your sole if you piss one off :-)
Like I said, never done it...I'd be a bit more concerned about my life and what was actually in the field I was attempting to tip a cow over in. Run into a herd with some new mothers or a pissy bull and you're putting your life on the line. Cows are mostly gentle...till you run into a bull that's trying to get laid or mother with her new calf...then all hell can break loose and things can go sideways very quickly.

You can tip a horse, but it is called "laying down a horse". A veternarian might do that. It can be done by one person with some ropes to hold one front leg up as they pull the house down with the other. Basically the horse goes down on one knee and over. I've seen videos of this, but not seen anyone do it it person. BTW, Horses, unlike cows can sleep standing up. Horses will also lay down to sleep if you give them a chance.
you might be able to have serveral people knock a cow over, but i think that would harm them. I don't know there is an easy way to do this gently like there is with a horse. I think i saw on some tv show about farm vets that there was a rotating table that would pick up a cow and tip it over for surgery.

When I was in college I went to a frat brothers farm for a party. I tried to sneak up on a cow and tip it over. The cow saw me coming and did not fall over as anticipated. Maybe I did it wrong.

Oh no, cow tipping is very real, it's tofu tipping that is urban legend. You might be able to tip a baby tofu, but you can only find those during snipe hunting season.

I hit a cow with a ford F-250 at ~15 mph. The fucking cow didn't budge.
You can't tip a cow by hand.

how could it be an urban legend. There aren't many cows in urban areas.

x2.
1) cows are very heavy.
2) the cows generally wake up as you approach.
3) the people who claim to have done it, without fail, upon further examination it's clear that they've never done it.
