I have a set of 2008 404 aluminum rim clinchers and a set of HED 4 Flamme Rouge Scandium Clinchers.
I can keep one set but have to sell the other. Is there a difference between the two? besides dimples....

How much for the HEDs?
Not really an answer to your Q, but kind of is...

I don't even know where to start with pricing them. They are, literally, still in the box. I think they are 2010s. They came with a bike I just bought and I'd like to ride them for at least a week to decide if I'm a fan...

Keep the HEDs you'll love them. You will like the ride of the wider rim.

I think (not bothering to look it up) the Hed 4s are more akin to the Zipp 303s in depth, while the 404s are deeper like the Jet 6. If you're looking at mostly Tri/racing, I'd stay with the 404s; for all-around riding, probably the Heds (although depending on how heavy you are, I felt like the Jet 9 i had wasn't as laterally stiff when it came to standing and cornering as my Zipps, since the extra depth is only a fairing and not structural like the Zipps). I've got 404s myself, but I also got a rear disc and a front 808 for flat TTs and Tri courses. Mine are all the older narrow rim versions though, so you might like the wider Hed version for comfort & handling.
Another angle is that Zipps typically cost more, so depending on condition you might be able to get more back for them if money is a major consideration (being older obviously closes this gap some, but dunno how much).
